L6 NVQ Diploma Construction Site Management

​

Overview

​

The Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Management -Building and Civil Engineering qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification. 

​

This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work as a Construction Site manager within the construction industry. 

​

You will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area. You will be assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you complete your qualification. 

​

This qualification supports the learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge.

​

The Learner will learn key practical skills and knowledge in:

​

  • Allocating Work and Checking People’s Performance in the Workplace

  • Establishing, Implementing and Maintaining Organisational Systems for Managing Health, Safety and Welfare and Webeing in the Workplace

  • Evaluating and Confirming Work Methods in the Workplace

  • Monitoring Project Activities in the Workplace

  • Controlling Project Progress against Agreed Quality Standards in the Workplace

  • Controlling Project Progress against Agreed Programmes in the Workplace

  • Managing Your Personal Development in the Workplace

  • Contributing to the Identification of a Work Team in the Workplace

  • Establishing, Controlling and Monitoring Environmental Factors and Sustainability in the Workplace

  • Planning the Preparation of the Site for the Project or Operation in the Workplace

  • Ensuring that Work Activities and Resources Meet Project Work Requirements in the Workplace

  • Identifying, Allocating and Planning the Deployment and Use of Plant, Equipment or Machinery in the Workplace

  • Organising, Controlling and Monitoring Supplies of Materials in the Workplace

  • Identifying and Maintaining Communication Systems and Organisational Procedures in the Workplace

  • Establishing Dimensional Control Criteria in the Workplace

  • Controlling Project Quantities and Costs in the Workplace

  • Evaluating Feedback and making Recommendations in the Workplace

  • Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace

  • Managing the Installation, Maintenance, Monitoring and Removal of Temporary Works in the Workplace

  • Managing the Project Handover in the Workplace

 

Entry Requirements and duration

 

The minimum age requirement for this qualification is 16+; there are no further entry requirements to take this qualification. This means that you can undertake this qualification without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area. However, we recommend that time gained experience will be an advantage.

 

Typically 6 to 18 months depending on your time management.

 

Benefits

Upon successful completion, you will receive a recognised certificate of competence and will be eligible to apply for a Black Managers CSCS card. You will also be eligible to join CIOB following a professional review.

 

L7 NVQ Diploma in Construction Senior Management

Please note that this qualification has been updated.

​

The Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Construction Senior Management qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification. 

​

This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work as a manager within the construction industry. 

​

You will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area. You will be assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you complete your qualification. 

​

You will be required to achieve a total of 9 units, 6 mandatory and an additional 3 units. 

​

This qualification supports the learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge.

​

The Learner will learn key practical skills and knowledge in:

 

Mandatory Units: 

​

  • Manage project processes in Construction Management

  • Manage Teams in Construction Management

  • Provide advice, judgement and service ethically in Construction Management

  • Develop self and others in Construction Management 

  • Control projects in Construction Management

  • Plan a construction organisations workforce

 

Optional Units –  (minimum of 3 required):

​

  • Prepare and agree a project brief and outline programme in Construction Management

  • Sustainability and environmental impact of developments in Construction Management

  • Establish project procurement arrangements in Construction Management

​

 

Entry Requirements and duration

 

The minimum age requirement for this qualification is 16+; there are no further entry requirements to take this qualification. This means that you can undertake this qualification without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area. However, we recommend that time gained experience will be an advantage and you will be working as a Senior Project Manager.

​

Duration 12 to 24 month’s depending on your time management.
